About American Phoenix

American Phoenix was founded by Beth Baltzan, a trade lawyer who most recently served as Counselor to Trade and Investment to former United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai.

Baltzan has appeared on CNBC’s Closing Bell and Fox Business’ Making Money with Charles Payne.  She has also been published in the L.A. Times,  Washington Monthly, Barron’s, and Newsweek.

She graduated from Stanford University in 1991 with a Bachelor’s in International Relations and earned her JD from Georgetown University Law Center in 1996. She is a Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council.
